In Northern Ireland, we worked with a high speed web printing firm to troubleshoot the printing of labels for blow moulded drinks containers. The issue related to the correct registration of label images on plastic film transferred from an extrusion line within the plant. We introduced a feedback control system, which would accurately measure web speed and control the printing of graphics on to the web feed roll - to coincide with the registration spec from the end user.

Recently, we completed an interim management UK multi-stage materials analysis and utilisation study for a GB based converter of speciality paper. This interim management study was commissioned by the client to cut down on paper materials waste - also to improve overall productivity at the plant.

Observation / recording of machine operation and frequency of downtime events, pointed to re layout of the equipment and improvement of changeover times - to improve overall productivity. We recommended machine improvements to reduce paper breaks. Finally a check was taken to ensure better compliance with quality specifications for incoming and in-process product.
