Interim Project Management
We support our industry clients in the management of a project or projects, to best meet the client's scope, cost and time objectives. Within the industry sectors in which Redmayne normally operates, our client's interim project management assignments usually fall into one of these three categories:
- activities normally within the run of the client's manufacturing or process operations. These are essentially core activities.
- activities which contribute to the manufacture of a product or delivery of a service, usually subcontracted, usually off-site.
- activities which are essentially non core, e.g. the installation of a new system, item of equipment, process or production line, etc.
Interim Project Management - Controls
Our project management approach is to employ a wide range of tools, procedures and methodologies, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of scope, cost and time objectives. These objectives are closely interlinked and will impact one upon the other. The project management process must take account of this interdependence.
Interim Project Management - Cost and Schedule Control
Cost and schedule controls on our interim project assignments are generally handled using critical path analysis techniques. Work packages are carefully scoped and costed before being allocated an estimated duration and added to the network logic chart and interlinked. Proprietary software packages are used extensively for network analysis and subsequently for control of cost and timing.
Interim Project Management - Quality and Performance Control
For effective quality and performance control, the work must be fully defined. This definition should detail and document the specification and scope of the individual work packages. The specification and scope of work documentation is used for obtaining enquiries and for contractors/suppler procurement. It is then used as a control document during the project implementation phases.
