Assignment Brief

As a privately owned SME, our client is a major player in the electronic components market with an extensive blue chip customer list both in the UK and abroad. This ISO 9001 approved company has a reputation for high performance products and engineering excellence.

Key aspects of the role included all aspects of manufacturing and purchasing and promoting continuous improvement to minimise cost, reduce lead time and optimise customer satisfaction. Key personal attributes required, were defined by the client, as follows:

  • High calibre, commercially minded, graduate engineer or equivalent, with proven track record of achievement
  • Practical, with drive, enthusiasm and a professional approach to service and delivery excellence, demonstrating a hands-on approach
  • Proven team builder / player with excellent management skills and ability to lead and direct
  • Significant SME experience of small batch production.

We identified an interim operations manager who met the client's requirements and recruited the candidate for a direct engagement temporary contract, with permanent staff transfer provisions.
