About the Client
Our client is a dynamic, established firm within the high pressure pumping equipment industry. They started about 20 years ago, in the design and assembly of high pressure pump sets for manufacturing industry and have since diversified into the burgeoning oil and gas sector.
All pump equipment sets are individually designed by their engineering department for the application and are skid mounted or containerised, complete with drive motors, controls etc. The design is safety critical; hence correct specification, documentation and performance are key to successful operation. Clients for the latest designs are companies in the oil and gas exploration and recovery business, much of this offshore.
Company turnover is around £8m currently, with a significant number of proposals/tenders in the pipeline. To meet the expanding order book, we were asked to find a qualified mechanical engineer / project manager to support the increasing project workload.
Scope of Recruitment Assignment
Redmayne prepared a brief for the assignment, which included background information about the company, its markets, management and financial performance, together with a job description, candidate profile, personal attributes and terms of employment.
Candidates were then sourced from database search, supplemented by Internet job board advertising and database servers. CVs for applicants who matched the job specification were reviewed in detail and a short list of suitable candidates prepared.
As for our normal files search assignments, we presented candidates who met the specification and responded well during an initial telephone interview and face-to-face interviews.
The final selection / interview of candidates and job offer was handled by the client.
