Interim Procurement Manager - Roles and Responsibilities

Redmayne was commissioned to provide an interim procurement manager on a major IT systems implementation contract for a national financial services company. The interim management assignment involved the procurement of sub-contractors and the tracking of the contractual aspects of delivery of a systems installation, for the customer.

IT Systems Procurement and Implementation

Our interim procurement manager handled the commercial and contractual aspects of the programme, which included:

  • preparation of enquiries
  • issue of enquiries for tenders
  • receipt and evaluation of vendor tender documentation and pricing
  • negotiating the sub-contracts with systems suppliers
  • management of the commercial operation of the account
  • maintaining the day-to-day interface with the customer
  • handling of variations to contract and issue of change orders
  • monitoring of progress of the in-house delivery team
  • certifying payments to vendors and administration of same

External sub-contracts and agreements were required for production support, licensing and application development services, in total up to several million pounds in value.
