Interim Project Manager handles Test Laboratory Relocation and Refurbishment
Our client engaged one of our interim manager specialists - to develop a modern test laboratory and prototype engineering facility, within an area of the existing manufacturing plant. The new facility has helped the company to achieve world class standards for the development and testing of quality automotive switchgear products to meet the exacting standards of its client automotive OEMs.
Approach
We allocated our interim project manager to work closely with the client engineering and manufacturing team to define and implement this important fitting out project. The interim project manager managed the procurement of sub-contract packages progressively on competitive tender, including floors, partitions, joinery, ceilings, air-conditioning, lighting, piped services, test equipment and benches. A detailed schedule was followed for completion of all activities for control of subcontractors. All sub-contract elements were costed and controlled closely during installation to meet the client budget.
Outcomes
Our client now offers comprehensive test facilities for operation of automotive switches, including test chambers for temperature, humidity, chemical, vibration and other parameters set by the automotive OEMs, to represent the wide variety of ambient conditions likely to be experienced in all parts of the world.
