Contract Arrangements (for Interim Managers)

For the implementation of interim management assignments, selected interim managers will contract on an arm's length independent contractor basis, either with us or the client.

Our independent contractor interim managers and executives are required to carry their own Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurances, and to provide evidence of such insurances.

Candidates will be invited to provide interim management services which reflect the project based nature of the work and an appropriate back-to back contract will be drawn up.

What is IR35?

These rules were first proposed in the 1999 Budget news release numbered IR35.

The purpose of the new rules is to remove opportunities for the avoidance of tax and Class 1 National Insurance Contributions (NICs) by the use of intermediaries, such as service companies or partnerships, in circumstances where an individual worker would otherwise be an employee of the client.

Many interim managers and temporary executives operate through their own limited companies, and are thus potentially within the ambit of this IR35 legislation.
